Ovine rinderpest, also commonly known as peste des petits ruminants (PPR) or Goat Plague, is a contagious disease primarily affecting goats and sheep
It is caused by a morbillivirus in the family of paramyxoviruses, that is related to rinderpest,measles and canine distemper.
Signs & Symptoms:
The main symptoms are –
- Fever
- Sores in the mouth
- Diarrhoea
- Pneumonia,
- Oral necrosis
- Mucopurulent nasal and ocular discharges
- Cough
- Sometimes death
